Katie Fretland, Staff Writer, City Hall

Katie Fretland joins Dan Mihalopoulos on the City Hall beat. She came to the Chicago News Cooperative from the Omaha World-Herald, where she covered police and court news. Earlier, with the Chicago Tribune’s Washington bureau, she contributed articles and posted multimedia features for the paper’s political blog. She previously was a contract staffer with the Orlando Sentinel and an intern in the Associated Press London bureau.
