Ryan of Wisconsin and Eric Cantor of Virginia, both Republicans; and Alexi Giannoulias, the Democratic candidate for the United States Senate in Illinois, and Dan Seals, the Democratic candidate in the state’s 10th Congressional District were doing something untoward or unethical. Fundraising is not a dirty quid pro quo transaction unless the candidate and donor makes it one. Mr. Warren's article was has unnecessary innuendo that was beneath his usual journalistic standards. How is a candidate suppose to raise the money necessary to run for office? Until we have public financing, events like the one Biden attended will be necessary. I was there and yes I have a motive--I want Dan Seals to be my Congressman--nothing more--nothing less.No one promised me anything other than a chance to support my candidate. I don't want anything for myself except the most qualified person representing my district.
