The parents of an attorney for former Chicago Police Commander Jon Burge were burgled last week.
The parents of Burge lawyer Rick Beuke returned from vacation to find that the rear door to their Southwest Side home had been smashed in and three televisions were unaccounted for. Police said the burglary occured between 10 p.m. Monday and 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The burglary prompted the cancellation of court Wednesday. At the time, Judge Joan Lefkow attributed the delay to an “undisclosed emergency” among the lawyers.
The jury is currently in deliberations.
