What about the great white snows of winter? How will they see the paid ticket in the corner of the windshield with 3 new inches of snow on it? How will they see a handicapped tag hanging on a rear view mirror? Will they ticket anyway, or blow off the ticketing, or clean our windshields for us?

Hi Lois:

Thanks for your post. Yes, the parking meters actually accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover and quarters (according to the company’s website.) As for the lawsuit, if you’re referring to the IVI-IPO suit, filed in August, it is still working its way through the Cook County Courts. I spoke today with Clint Krislov, the IVI-IPO’s lawyer in the case, and he said that he is currently preparing a response to the city’s motion to dismiss the suit. Krislov said he expects the judge to rule on the motion in February.

Thanks for this information about the parking fees. Two questions? Do they take American Express as well as MC and Visa and is the law suit fighting the sale of privilege to park on public streets still in the works?
