Sharene Shariatzadeh
Sharene Shariatzadeh is Director of Business Development for the Chicago News Cooperative. Sharene has led business development for some of Chicago’s most prominent cultural and business institutions. Most recently she served as vice president of business development and president of The Chicago Conservation Center, the nation’s leading art-restoration laboratory. Previously, she was director of corporate and foundation relations at Steppenwolf Theatre Company and the first in-house bookings director for The Joffrey Ballet. She began her career at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, the Midwest’s leading fine-art auction house.
Sharene also raised capital from some of Puerto Rico’s most prominent business leaders to launch the island’s first online auction site, IslaZ.com. The site was later purchased by a subsidiary of the island’s major newspaper, El Nuevo Dia. She serves as treasurer of Chicago’s Cultural Mile Association.
