Attorney Expects Blago Verdict Today (VIDEO)

Speaking to reporters after this morning’s hearing, Robert Blagojevich‘s attorney Michael Ettinger said he is expecting a verdict today and speculated about how a possible retrial might be a lot shorter.

“There has been a lot of speculation that the jury found – and we don’t know – not guilty on the first two counts,” said Ettinger. “Assume that is true, especially for count two, [Tony] Rezko, [Stuart] Levine, all that is gone so this trial would be cut in half.”

Asked about the jury’s request to have a copy of the oath they were read prior to deliberating, Ettinger said: “I think jurors, and I don’t know if it’s guilty of not guilty, the jurors in minority, and I don’t know how many there are, are being read that.”

Rod Blagojevich‘s attorneys declined to speak to press, saying that Judge James Zagel had asked them not to.
